Indulge Your Culture While Personal Branding
Don’t Downplay Because It’s Not Mainstream
Having international clients allows me the privilege to tap into the value of culture as part of the personal branding experience. As an outsider I can see the beauty that others take for granted. Their lived cultural experience is what makes the difference between them and the alternative. An outside perspective is often what’s needed to give you that edge.
The Personal Brand Of A Serbian
For instance, my Serbian clients. They’re a husband and wife design team who founded, The Shadow Legacy. Andjela, who named her personal brand Phantom Beauty, was hesitant about inbound marketing because English is not her first language. I suggested she teach her audience Serbian words that are relevant to her work.
The other half of The Shadow Legacy duo is Vanja. He named his personal brand the Shadow Leader. He digs old school hip hop, photography, and treasures the family recipe for rakija, a traditional Serbian drink similar to moonshine. I say create content that includes designing while drinking rakija.
